Pushed

Everything was fixed up.

She looked out on the porch and felt at ease.

Even the sirens no longer bothered her.

The body below the stairs creaked.

The wind was awfully loud.

Both noises knocked around.

Back and forth leaned the trees.

There would be footsteps soon.

And metal bars.

But it was almost summer.

She didn't care what came next.
